You can create GIFs using Photo Booth Upload.  This tutorial will cover the basics on getting started and how to create a GIF.

1.

Launch Photo Booth Upload and press S on the keyboard to open the settings. Then navigate to the GIF tab.

2.

Select the Make New GIF button. You'll then be presented a window with a variety of options. It will appear like so:

3.

First, Name your GIF. If you intend to use Backgrounds and/or Overlays for your GIF, select Load Bulk. Selecting Load Bulk will allow you to upload all background files (jpeg), then all your overlay files (png). Any files you load using Load Bulk will appear as a folder under the Green Screen tab. If you are only using backgrounds or only overlays, select Cancel when prompted for the background or overlay that you do not intend to use. Please note you'll be prompted with a window regarding the discrepancy if there is a different number of backgrounds to overlays (or vice versa) but will still function as intended.

4.

If you're using multiple backgrounds/overlays, notice the Frame # column has populated to the same amount of backgrounds/overlays you have uploaded. If you're not using backgrounds/overlays, you can adjust how many frames there are by adjusting the Number of Pictures counter at the top left.

5.

Once you have determined how many frames you would like, you can choose attributes for each frame that correspond with settings under Green Screen and Photo sections. For example, if you select Frame # 1, you can then select a Green Screen folder and choose a particular green screen that will be used within the frame. If you do not wish to use a green screen for a given frame, make sure None is selected for the frame. By default, all frames do not have a Green Screen selected. The exception is when using Load Bulk. Also, with Frame # 1 selected you can choose if you want to Take a Photo, Don't Take a Photo, or Use other Frame Photo. With these options we can choose whether or not a particular frame will have a photo taken or not, or if you wish to use a photo from another frame.

6.

Once you have configured the Frame # and have adjusted the Green Screen and Photo options for those frames, adjust the Frames Per Second (beneath Name) to adjust the playback speed of your GIF.

7.

Click OK at the bottom of the window to save your GIF. In the GIF Mode box, select Auto Apply or User Select and click the Select button on the thumbnail of your newly created GIF. Click OK again to save your settings and start capturing your GIF!

Adjust the Photo Holder location within a GIF Frame

For some GIF designs, you may want to achieve the appearance that your guest is moving along with the background image. To do so, you'll need to configure the photo holders of the individual Green Screen frames. You are only able to adjust photo placement within the GIF if you are using Green Screen with your GIF.

1.

After creating your GIF and importing Green Screens, navigate to the Green Screen tab of PBU Settings. Scroll through the bottom row of Green Screens and find the folder that corresponds with your GIF, and double click.

2.

Here you'll see all the Green Screen frames of your GIF. Double click the first Green Screen to open the edit window. Click the photo holder and you'll notice a green circle with a line attaching itself to the center of the photo holder. Click anywhere on the photo holder and drag to re-position it. Click and drag the green circle to rotate and resize the image. You can also use keyboard buttons to make smaller, more precise adjustments. Press Z to rotate the image left, X to rotate right, N to shrink, M to grow, the arrow keys to re-position and C to center.

3.

Adjust the Photo Holder to your liking and press OK.

4.

Repeat steps 2 and 3 for all your Green Screens. Alternatively, you can set one Green Screen and copy its rotation, size, and position to some or all of the other Green Screen frames. Right click the Green Screen that you adjusted for options, which include:

Edit: Opens the Edit window for the selected Green Screen.

Copy Settings: Copies the settings from the selected Green Screen. Once copied, right click the next Green Screen and select Paste 'NAME OF GREEN SCREEN' settings.

Set All: This will copy the settings from the selected Green Screen and pastes them to all additional Green Screens in the folder.

Move: This will move the selected Green Screen to another folder. Once Move has been selected, right click again in a different folder and select Move 'NAME OF GREEN SCREEN' here.

Set All Chroma Mask: Sets the Chroma Mask settings from the selected Green Screen and applies it to all Green Screens in the folder.

Copy Chroma Mask: Copies the Chroma mask settings of the selected Green Screen to be applied to another Green Screen (right click on a different Green Screen and select Paste 'NAME OF GREEN SCREEN' here).

5.

Once they have been configured, make sure you click OK at the bottom of the screen to save your settings.
